Mix Sample 001

The first half of this file is a mix submitted by the artist/producer and the second is the mix done at AudioTactix.

The periodic dropouts in the file are intentional as an intellectual property safeguard.

Mastering Sample 001

First part of the file is a master as submitted by the artist. The second half of the file was mastered at Audiotactix.

The artist wondered if there was a way to "open up" the mix without recalling the entire session. I gave it a shot and here is the result. Some people hate it, some love it but it's a good example of some of the limitations working with a mixed track. Much better results could be obtained with a full recall of the mix.

Normally I like to leave CD and Vinyl mastering to individuals more suited for that discipline. The type of mastering I specialize in here is primarily for web based audio and DJ's. Usually it involves "bumping up" a home brewed mix so it's loud enough to play out at a club and mixes well with commercial releases in the genre or in the case of mastering for web, getting the best quality into a small file size. I also maximize and track ID mix CD's so they are suitable for duplication. More information can be found at this link
